Norman Dean Poffenroth (Dec 16 1969 - Feb 26 2005)

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers for Dean. Dean (Patricia's son and Douglas's stepson) passed away on Feb 26 2005 from complications arising from a disease called dermatomyositis. This rare disease took his life in only four months. He was always a happy, healthy human being with compassion, joy, gentleness of spirit and a heart so full of love. He had a knack for making everyone he met feel important, interesting and worthy. Dean had just graduated from Dalhousie University with a Masters in Architecture and was being offered a partnership in a company in Halifax. He was also a singer, pianist, drummer, guitarist, dancer, friend, brother, son, husband and father......and he played all of these roles with unbridled passion.

Dean, you are so very greatly missed. Your laughter, your smiles, your joy, your warmth and your love will live on in our hearts and your examples will influence forever our dealings with each other.

This world has many beautiful colours but now they are not so bright. You made them shine, Dean. God bless you.
